Healing a Damaged Aura

damaged aura

I first heard of an aura being damaged years ago by one of my teachers describing how his mom would throw her temper around a lot and this damaged his aura.  I never knew an aura could be damaged and it made me think of what has damaged my aura throughout my life and also what has healed it.

What is an aura?

Your aura is your energy field around you.  It is how much life force energy is flowing through you and that you are emanating.

It can grow dim or shine bright depending on many things.  Your health and the medications you take, your environment, the music you listen to, your energy practices like exercising and meditating, the thoughts you think, the company you keep.  Also what is currently happening in your life, your internal conditioning and what is still unhealed from in your past all affect your energy field.

Places have an aura as well that we are soaked in.  Detroit, Michigan has a different aura than Austin, Texas or Colorado Springs.  Think of the aura of a prison versus the aura of a beach community.

People with strong, shining auras

Throughout history, those with strong, shining auras are depicted in paintings as having a glow around them.  Saints are shown to have light around their heads.  When I saw the living saint Amma Karunamayi, she had an otherworldly golden glow about her.  Jesus was described as having white light around him.  One of my favorite descriptions of being around Jesus’ aura was the feeling of “complete validation of your individual spirit.”  The feeling of being so loved and seen by him.  People with strong, shining auras are high vibrational, have strong concept of themselves and clean heart and minds.

How is an aura damaged?

An aura can be damaged by low vibrational people around us that we don’t have good defenses or firewalls to.

People who are bothered by your very existence or jealous of you can damage your aura and make you feel bad about yourself.  Those in drug addiction or alcoholism can dim your aura.  Those who take pleasure in seeing others in pain or have no consideration towards others aren’t good for our auras.  See my blog “Disowned Part of You and How to Reclaim Them” to learn more about the specifics of this.

Your community environment you’re in, addiction and alcoholism and junk food diets and unhealed past psychological wounds can all lessen and shrink your aura.   At the time of this writing, there are many work places that are on the brink of going on strike.  That type of work environment can be difficult to maintain a bright aura around.

How is an aura healed?

Distancing yourself from those that damage your aura.  Remember that what’s in their cup is what is spilling out onto you.  It is about what’s inside THEM that makes them act in low vibrational ways towards YOU.  Not that you were deserving of it or something about you brought about that behavior in them.

My teacher Sevinj has taught me to turn these people into cartoon characters so that I am not so “in their hands” when I’m around them.  This has helped tremendously and is fun to think about.

Hypnotherapy healing of your aura

Healing the damage to your aura can come from you healing your image of yourself – having positive eyes on you.  Check out my next blog, the Kind of Eyes You Have On You to learn more about this.

Think right now of all the good that you put out into the world and thinking of the people who think the world of you.  Forgiving yourself for past mistakes when you were doing the best you could with what you knew at the time.

There is an African tribe that has an interesting community aura healing practice.  When a member of the tribe makes a mistake or does something wrong, the tribe forms a circle around that person and tells them all the good things about them and what good they’ve done in the past.

After my aura was damaged from someone going through a rough time that came to see me, I turned this into a hypnosis protocol.  I have my clients imagine that the people that love them and think the world of them, surround them and tell them good things about them and send them positive, healing energy.  Restoring them.

People sometimes describe to me the colors of auras they feel.  I’ll often have people in hypnosis pick the color they want their aura to be and have them radiate it out in all directions and remove any ghosts of anyone that has lowered their vibration.

Practices to help heal and raise your aura

If you are going through an experience that has damaged your aura, remember that you are so much more than this and there are things you can do to restore your shining power.

I do weekly therapy sessions with my teacher Sevinj.  I sometimes shut off my phone for a day to help restore my energy and clean anything that needs letting go of.  A high vibrational aura is not just toxic positivity at all costs which I’ll speak more about in other blogs, but sitting with and working with what’s bothered you and made you dip.

Being in nature can help heal your aura as well as being around positive, nurturing people and animals.

Take baths to cleanse yourself of the energy of others and nurture and care for yourself can help.  Eat high vibrational alive foods and move your body whether that’s Youtube workouts or dancing in your living room.  Doing self work – journaling, meditation, and hypnotherapy all help to heal the psychological wounds from the past and make you aware of action you can take to strengthen your energy field.
